Description

Owner's manual for the Eagle, volume two.

Apollo 11 Grumman Apollo Operations Handbook - Lunar Module LM5 and Subsequent, Volume 2 Book. A massive (several hundred pages) manual, 8" x 10.5", five-hole punched and contained in a vintage three-ring Grumman binder. The part number on the title page is "LMA790-3-LM5 and Subsequent" and the date is May 1, 1969. This is Volume 2/ Operational Procedures with the facsimile signatures of W. T. Malloy, S. C. Campbell, and John W. Coursen also on the title page. LM-5 was the fifth lunar module built by Grumman and the third to fly manned. This is essentially the operations manual for the vehicle that became known internationally as Eagle, the first manned spacecraft to land on the moon with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin aboard. It is organized by sections with titles such as: "Prelaunch Closeout Check," "Subsystem Activation," "Prethrust," "Separation and Docking," "Intravehicluar Transfer," "Extravehicular Activity," and others. A very desirable document related to the Apollo program. Please note: the previous lot features Volume I of this same handbook. Very fine condition with some light toning on the first few pages.
