Description

TRW Mission Information Displays (Two) for NASA's Apollo 10 and Apollo 11. The TRW NASA Apollo Mission Information Display is a slide-rule type device that was created by TRW Systems Group in 1969. It is about 6" x 15" when expanded. These displays provided information about the Apollo 10 & 11 missions including: mission times, mission events, and lunar altitude & velocity. Slide the indicator to your local day and time and it will tell you the ground elapsed time, activity day, velocity, and indicate if the mission is on television. It tells you major events that occurred during the mission, as well. The Apollo 11 Mission Information Display is like the Apollo 10 version, but it has some additional features, such as a lunar landing trajectory indicator and a lunar surface map. These displays were used by the media and the public to follow these Apollo missions, helping people understand the complex missions and to appreciate the magnitude of what the astronauts were accomplishing. Rare. Both very fine.
