Description
A beautiful set of lunar exploration prints.
Apollo Program: Grumman's "Lunar Module Derivatives for Future Space Missions," Circa 1970. A portfolio containing thirteen gorgeous 14" x 11" high-quality color lithographs; all are artist concepts of what might have been if the Apollo moon missions had been continued well past Apollo 17. The included eight-page 5" x 11" booklet gives details of each image and explains the concept (in part): "A variety of LM-derived vehicles for use in Earth or lunar orbit, and on the lunar surface, are described in this portfolio. Missions of two-months duration in Earth orbit (longer with revisits) and at least two weeks duration on the Moon for a variety of important space objectives have been continually refined for over five years. These missions apply the experience obtained on earlier LM missions to reduce cost while greatly increasing mission and scientific objectives throughout the 1970s. Additionally, these missions serve as a springboard for significant space ventures." Seldom offered. Pristine condition.Auction Info
