Description

Apollo 7 Crew-Signed Beta Cloth Mission Insignia. A 9" square swatch (approximately) with a color mission insignia at center. It is signed around the insignia in various inks: "Donn Eisele", "Walt Cunningham", and "Wally Schirra". This was an eleven-day mission, October 11-22, 1968, the first three-man crew in U.S. space history. The success of this mission, after the tragic Apollo 1 launch pad fire, was encouraging to NASA and led to the launch of Apollo 8 to the moon just two months later. Quite scarce. This is the very first of these Heritage has ever offered. Excellent. From the Family Collection of Jacques Bracke.
