Apollo 15 Mini License Plate Carried on the Moon's Surface.

Apollo 15 Lunar Module Flown Miniature Lunar Rover License Plate Certified by Mission Commander Dave Scott. A 1.25" x 0.75" mini Moon 1971 license plate numbered "LRV 001" beautifully and elaborately presented in multiple mats and a frame, overall 19.5" x 26", with a B&W photo of Dave Scott on the lunar surface next to the first-ever Lunar Roving Vehicle, signed: "My Favorite Car!! Dave Scott/ Apollo 15 CDR", and an engraved plate with the text:
CARRIED ON THE MOON ABOARD THE FIRST LUNAR ROVER
DURING THE EXPEDITION TO HADLEY-APPENINE
APOLLO 15 July 30 - August 2, 1971

DAVID R. SCOTT - mission commander, moonwalker
JAMES B. IRWIN - lunar module pilot, moonwalker


Boeing manufactured a small number of these for the first LRV and Dave Scott carried them in his space suit knee pocket during all three moon EVAs. An item suitable for the finest of space collection. Excellent condition.

Included with this lot is a Novaspace Galleries Certificate of Authenticity signed by Dave Scott giving the full details of this interesting piece of space history.
