Description

Apollo 15 Crew-Signed Beta Cloth Mission Insignia. A 9" square swatch (approximately) with a color mission insignia at center. It is signed around the insignia in various felt tips "To Ben/ my Very Best Wishes/ Jim Irwin", "Dave Scott", and "Al Worden". The Apollo 15 mission was designed to be a tour de force of lunar exploration, with a strong emphasis on scientific research and data collection. The Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) was a groundbreaking innovation that allowed the Apollo 15 astronauts to venture farther across the lunar surface than ever before. The LRV's mobility and payload capacity enabled the crew to conduct a comprehensive geological survey, collect extensive samples, and perform a wide range of experiments, significantly enhancing our understanding of the moon's composition and history. Quite scarce. This is the very first of these Heritage has ever offered. Excellent. From the Family Collection of Jacques Bracke.
