Description

Apollo 12 Lunar Module Flown Sterling Silver "Margarita" Cross by James Avery, from Alan Bean's Personal Collection, with Certificate of Authenticity. A 1.125" x 1.375" Christian cross covered with five daisy flowers, hallmarked "JA Sterling" on the back. Margarita, the Spanish word for "daisy" is a flower often used in Christian art to symbolize the innocence of the Infant Christ. The James Avery company still manufactures a smaller version of this design. This example, however, flew to the moon aboard the LM Intrepid in November 1969. Jump ring at top, ready for a nice chain. Evidence of silver polish on front, light wear on back. From the estate of Moonwalker and Artist Alan Bean.
