Description

Two USAF Orange Flight Suits: Type CWU-1/P Cold Weather Flight Suit and Light K-2B, Circa-Early 1960s. Including: 1) An insulated orange flight suit composed of 35% wool and 65% nylon, size medium regular and manufactured by the Olive Hill Manufacturing Co. The contract/manufacturing date is October 24, 1961. The heavy flight suit is generously appointed with numerous snap pockets, zipper pockets and zipper access points. The main zipper is marked "Conmar"; the others are marked "Crown". A very worn NASA 2.5" "meatball" is machine-sewn to the upper left sleeve. The name "F. Koons-4" is written in black marker pen on the inside upper right sleeve. Wrinkled from storage with a few scattered stains, otherwise excellent. 2) Very light K-2B flight suit size Large short, manufactured by Olive Hill Manufacturing Co. The contract/manufacturing date is September 19, 1960. The flight suit has several zip pockets, all marked "Conmar". All snaps and zippers in working order. 4" x 5" area of loss at the lower left leg with some fraying and holes on the lower right leg. Fair condition.
