Apollo 13 Flown Pair of "Booties" from the Personal Collection of Mission Commander James Lovell. Offered here is a right/left pair of Beta cloth boots with dual snap closures and a 3.5" diameter area of Velcro on the bottom. Toe to heel is 10.5" and sole to top is 10". There is a tag sewn in each with the following information: "Boot Assy. R. H. (L. H.)/ BW-1062-002/ Size: 10 S/N: 1110/ Subject: Lovell/ Contract No.: NAS 9-8309/ Date of Mfg.: 3-3-69/ Mfg. By: B. Welson Co." These would have been the footwear for Lovell while on board ship and he has certified the left boot on the toe area: "Apollo 13 in flight suit booties used in Acquarius S/C". On their bag storage bag is a label that he has certified and signed: "Interior Apollo 13 booties- Flown James Lovell". Very fine condition with only minor wear and light soiling.

This lot includes a signed Letter of Authenticity from Lovell stating, "[These] Internal flight suit beta cloth booties - worn during flight of Apollo 13 [were] flown on board the Apollo 13 Command Module Odyssey during its perilous flight around the moon April 11-17, 1970."
