The first man in space
Yuri Gagarin Signed 1961 LIFE Magazine Cover. The April 21, 1961, issue of the venerable weekly with a photo of Gagarin and Nikita Khrushchev on the cover. It is signed in Cyrillic by Gagarin and dated April 16, 1963. This issue's lead story was, of course, of Gagarin's historic flight on Vostok 1, April 12, 1961, and the cover announces the contents: "19 Pages On Space/ Inside Yuri's Capsule/ Celebration in Moscow/ Impact on Washington/ U.S. Space Future". The first Gagarin-signed LIFE that we are aware of. Excellent for display. Very good.Auction Info
