Space Shuttle Discovery (STS-51-D) Flown Rocket Nozzle Part Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Specialist S. David Griggs. On a 4" x 5" plaque from Morton Thiokol's Wasatch Division is mounted a 2" x 1" x 0.5" "...carbon phenolic block [that] was cut from the nozzle of one of Morton Thiokol's reusable solid rocket booster motors that propelled Astronauts Karol Bobko, Don Williams, Rhea Seddon, Jeff Hoffman, Dave Griggs, and Payload Specialists Charles Walker and Jake Garn toward orbit at the beginning of Discovery's 51-D mission on April 12, 1985." An attractively presented and seldom seen space flown relic. Excellent condition.Auction Info
