Mercury Seven Astronauts: "Project Mercury" Stamp First Day Cover Signed by Cooper, Schirra, Carpenter, Grissom, and Glenn. A philatelic cover hand cancelled at Cape Canaveral on February 20, 1962, the date of John Glenn's legendary orbital flight and also the issue date for this stamp. On the left side five of of America's first seven astronauts have neatly signed in various inks. The signatures of Alan Shepard and Deke Slayton have been applied by a stamp. Age related wear and toning, overall fine.
