Apollo 13 Rare Backup Crew (Young, Swigert, Duke) Signed Launch & Splashdown Cover. A philatelic cover with both a 6¢ "Apollo 8" stamp and a 6¢ "Flag" stamp affixed at top right, one bearing a hand cancelation from Kennedy Space Center dated April 11, 1970, the day that Apollo 8 was launched. The other stamp bears a hand cancellation from Kennedy Space Center dated April 17, 1970, the day that Apollo 13 returned tom Earth. The cachet is an applied color mission insignia sticker. At left, the names of the three members of the backup crew's names have been typed. Above each are the bold felt signatures as follows: "John Young", "Jack Swigert, and "Charlie Duke Jr". The first such item Heritage has offered. Included with the lot is a 10" x 8" color print for display or matting purposes. Unaddressed. Very fine. From the Family Collection of Jacques Bracke.
