Description

Alan Shepard Signed Mercury-Redstone 3 (Freedom 7) Launch Cover. A philatelic cover with a printed color image of Shepard and a facsimile signature, hand-canceled at Port Canaveral on May 5, 1961, the day of his historic flight that put America in the Space Race. It is signed in blue ink: "Alan Shepard". Quite rare; the first such cover Heritage has offered since 2017. Unaddressed. Excellent. Included, for purposes of display or matting, is a glossy color print of Shepard in his silver spacesuit. From the Family Collection of Jacques Bracke.
