Publisher's illustrated glossy paper boards with lettering on the covers and spine in white. Signed "Sally Ride" on the front free endpaper. Many notations and underlines by a previous owner throughout the text. Altogether a very good copy.Roger Launius was the chief historian for NASA, and in this work he provides a simplified guide to the history of space exploration. Sally Ride (Sally Kirsten Ride, May 26, 1951) was the first woman from the United States to go into outer space in 1983 as a crewmember on Space Shuttle Challenger STS-7.
