Petrovich (Pseudonym for Valentin Glushko) Signed Scientific Article Offprint: "ИССЛЕДОВАНИЕ ЛУНЫ РАКЕТНЫМИ АППАРАТАМИ" (Investigation of the Moon by Rocket Vehicles), Inscribed to and Originally from the Collection of Ivan Borisenko, the Renowned Soviet Sports Commissar. (Vestnik Akademii Nauk SSSR (Herald of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR), No. 11, November 1959). A rare and historically significant 22-page, 6.5" x 10.5" scientific offprint detailing the groundbreaking mission of Luna 2, the first man-made object to impact the lunar surface. The document features a rare presentation inscription on the front cover from the "Hidden Figure" of the Soviet space program, Valentin Glushko, writing under his established state-mandated pseudonym, Professor G. V. Petrovich. Signed boldly in blue ink (translated): "To Ivan Grigorievich Borisenko from the author. 9.5.61." The text provides a comprehensive technical overview of the Luna 2 mission, which launched on September 12, 1959, and reached the Moon on September 14.
