Book Signed on the Title Page by the Apollo 11 Crew.
Apollo 11 Crew-Signed Book: CBS. 10:56:20 PM EDT 7/20/69 The historic conquest of the moon as reported to the American people by CBS News over the CBS Television Network. (New York: Columbia Broadcasting System, Inc., 1970). A fabulous "coffee table" book with its original presentation card and introductory note from Frank Stanton, president of CBS. The title page bears the signatures of the Apollo 11 crew: "Michael Collins", "Buzz Aldrin", and "Neil Armstrong". The nation stayed up that July night in 1969, eyes glued to the TV screen, as everyone's favorite newscaster Walter Cronkite carefully explained each nuance of the most amazing event of our generation. This book takes you back to that magical time with photos, text, and broadcast transcripts. The book is in generally very good condition; the lunar crater-embossed dust jacket is worn at the edges and folds.Two of the autographs (Collins, Aldrin) were obtained at Novaspace private signings and the appropriate Certificates of Authenticity are included with this lot.
