Patches: U.S. Air Force Skilled Air Defense Command Cut Edge Patch Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified. A 2.5" x 3.5" patch constructed of machine embroidery on twill with cheesecloth backing. The Air Defense Command was established in 1946, was briefly inactivated in 1950, and reactivated in 1951. It was re-designated "Aerospace" rather than "Air" in 1968. The command's mission was to provide air defense to the continental United States. Excellent. Sealed in a numbered archival holder, CAG 1001714-005.
