Apollo 17 Lunar Module Flown American Flag Originally Presented to NASA Protocol Officer Edward S. Barker by Gene Cernan and Ron Evans, with Signed Letter of Authenticity and Copies of Original Provenance. A 5.875" x 4.125" cloth U.S. flag that flew aboard Apollo 17's Lunar Module Challenger to the surface of the moon with crewmembers in December 1972. This is from Barker's estate and is accompanied by photocopies of the original provenance certified and notarized by noted Space expert Michael Orenstein. These include a handwritten note by Barker: "Given to me by Gene Cernan - Personal Kit - Apollo 17. In his suit while on the moon. ESB" and the typed letter of transmittal to him signed by Cernan and Evans, dated December 11, 1975. Simply framed to an overall 10" x 12.25". Excellent. From the Family Collection of Jacques Bracke
