Description
11 bore William Read of Boston Percussion Double Barrel Shotgun. NVSN. 11 bore. 32 3/4-inch twist barrels with Birmingham proof marks. Concave smooth rib with maker's name. Back action locks border engraved with foliate scroll details. Flat sided hammers with foliate scroll details. Checkered straight grip stock of slightly figured walnut. Nickel silver shield. Nickel silver oval with initials. Iron buttplate with elongated engraved top tang. Pineapple fineal on trigger plate. Nickel silver wedge bolsters and fore-end cap. Wood loading rod with brass tip. Condition : Very Good. Barrels shows 40-50% older finish with varnish layer. Metal shows some areas of fine pitting. Bores show fine pitting with a few larger pits. Furniture shows a brown patina. Hammer's show repairs. Stock shows a refreshed finish with a few marks.Auction Info
