Description
Lindner Dimante Orlow Boxlock Double Barrel Shotgun.Serial no. 1628. 12 gauge. 28 1/2-inch barrels with Lindner's mark: HAL. Matted concave rib with extension. Silver-gray scalloped box lock action engraved with fine foliate scroll and game scene on the underside. Extractor. Sideclips. Intercepting safeties. Horn triggerguard. Finely checkered pistolgrip stock of semi-figured walnut. Drop points and checkered panels at head of stock. Cheekpiece. Silver oval with initials. Finely checkered splinter fore-end with Deeley-style release. Sling swivels. DATA: Barrel dimensions: Bore diameter: 0.0712/0.719 inches. Chokes: 0.015/0.020 inches (Modified). Chambers: 2 3/4 inches. Proof: German Nitro 13/1, 13/1, 12. (Note: The gun is out of proof due to lengthened chambers.) Stock dimensions: Pull: 14 1/4 inches. Drop at comb: 1 1/2 inches. 2 5/8 inches. Drop at heel: Cast-off: 1/8 inches. Weight: 6 pounds, 6 ounces.
Condition: Fine, as redone. Barrels retain 98-99% reblued finish. Exterior of barrels with some unevenness due to rebluing. Underside of barrels under the fore-end show areas of older pitting. Bores with a few light marks and some rivelling. Action shows slight looseness. Small repair to triggerguard. Refinished stock with areas of uneven checkering.
