Description
Foerster Boxlock Ejector Double Barrel Shotgun.Serial no. 10750. 16 gauge. 29 3/4-inch barrels with matted concave extended rib marked: W Foerster, Konigl Hofbusch sen macher, Berlin. Casehardened Scalloped boxlock action with border and fine foliate scroll engraving. Greener-style cross-bolt and side safety. Ejectors. Horn triggerguard. Finely checkered half-pistolgrip stock of figured walnut with diamond shaped horn inlays at the grip and underside. Round knob. Checkered case hardened buttplate. DATA: Barrel dimensions: Bore diameter: 0.670/0.670 inches. Chokes: 0.034/0.035 inches. (Full) Chambers: 2 1/2 inches. Proof: German Nitro, 16/1, 16/1, 16. Stock dimensions: Pull: 14 3/8 inches. Drop at comb: 1 3/4 inches. Drop at heel: 3 1/4. Cast-off: 1/4 inches. Weight: 6 pounds 6 ounces.
Condition: Very Good, as partly refinished. Barrels show 97-99% reblued finish. Bright bores. Exterior and interior with considerable surface unevenness. Barrels have a dull ring. Action and buttplate retain 90-95% dark case colors. Replaced top lever screw. Stock shows a 1/2 inch crack at grip. Repair at rear of top tang. Wood shows some marks.
