Chief Red Feather [Custer and Little Big Horn]: His Personal Custom-Decorated Shotgun. William Golcher Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun. Serial no. 8462, 10 gauge, 19-inch barrels. Scroll and fowl engraved receiver with WM. GOLCHER to each side. Dual triggers. Checkered walnut pistolgrip stock. Blank silver badge escutcheon to base of stock. Decorative inset brass rivets present to each side of stock. Scattered custom carvings along with: RED FEATHER NOV. 4, 1881 CROW AGENCY. Checkered hard rubber buttplate. Measures 35.5" in length.

Chief Red Feather was part of a delegation that traveled from the Cheyenne Indian Agency at Fort Bennett to Washington, D.C. in May-June 1870. The delegation had representatives from the following Sioux tribes: Minneconjou, Sans Arcs and Two Kettles. He also participated in the Battle of Little Big Horn, referenced in Chief Two Moon's account of the battle.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina with noticeable signs of age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Right hammer thumbrest is broken off. Heavy scuffs and dings to wood. Action loose. Pitted bores.
