Description
Cased Renato Gamba Bobby Jones Grand Slam Limited Edition Double Barrel Shotgun.Serial no. 22247, 20 gauge (2 ¾-inch), 26-inch barrels with a matte rib and two beads. Blued barrels; coin finish receiver, lever and trigger guard hand engraved and signed by Italian master engraver Cesare Giovanelli. The left side of the receiver features the Augusta Golf Club; the right the 13th hole. The bottom of the receiver features a raised gilt image of Jones and his facsimile signature. The caption reads: "British Amateur / British Open / U.S.A. Amateur / U.S. Open". Just above the vignette is engraved "Limited Edition / 22 of 500". The top of the lever is highlighted with crossed gilded golf clubs and golf ball. In addition lavish folitate scroll is profusely displayed on the receiver. Single selective gold trigger. Manual tang safety/selector. Ejectors. Figured walnut checkered stock and fore-end. Weight: 6 ½-pounds; length of pull 14 ¼-inches. Sold in the original beautiful leather case with lush green velvet lined fitted compartments.
Condition: Excellent. Other than a few light scratches and handling marks on the stock, the shotgun appears little used. Tight action; bright bores. Some scuffing to the outside of the brown leather case, otherwise in very good condition.
