Serial no. 3290, 20 gauge, 30-inch Damascus barrel with concave smooth rib. Rib marked: J.D. Dougall Gun Maker to H.R.H. the Prince of Wales 39 Gordon Street, Glasgow. Case-hardened bar with bar action locks. Action and locks 50-60% engraved with foliate scroll and game scenes with dogs flushing birds. Percussion fences. Rounded shank high hammers. Recessed hammer faces. Top lever. Checkered straight grip stock of well-figured walnut. Checkered replacement horn buttplate. Vacant silver oval. Checkered pull-off splinter fore-end with engraved metal tip. Later leather trunk case with maroon interior. Lid with the initials E W B. Data: Barrel Dimensions: Bore: 0.629/0.625 inches. Chokes: 0.018/0.015 inches (Improved Modified/Modified). Chambers: 2 5/8 inches. Proof: London reproof, 16.0, 15.9, 65mm, 950 Bar. Minimum Wall Thickness: 0.028 inches. Stock Dimensions: Pull: 14 1/2-inches. Drop at comb: 1 1/4-inches. Drop at heel: 2-inches. Cast-off: 1/8 inch. Condition: Excellent as redone. Barrels show 98-99% redone finish. Bright bores. Both barrels show slight bulging at the muzzles. Action and locks show a silver gray patina with some traces of case colors. Replacement lock screw. Reblued triggerguard shows 99% finish. Refinished stock and fore-end. Recut checkering. Fore-end shows a professional repair at edge.
