*28 Gauge Parker Upgraded CHE Double Barrel Shotgun. Serial no. 170709. 28 gauge. 26-inch barrels with matted concave rib. Rib with: Parker Brothers, Makers, Meriden, Conn. Acme Steel. Note: The Acme appears to have been added at a later time. Upgraded casehardened number 00 action engraved with chain border, foliate scroll and game scenes: pointer and setter on sides and setter flushing a bird in a meadow. Engraving signed: 1965 R. Runge Engr. Ilion, NY. Upgrade attributed to DelGrego. Ejectors. Automatic safety. Parker single selective trigger. Finely checkered replacement pistolgrip stock of figured walnut. Skeleton buttplate. Drop points. Vacant silver oval. Replacement beavertail fore-end with modified fore-end iron for pull rod.Data: Barrel Dimensions: Bores: 0.557/0.557 inches. Chokes: 0.025/0.005 inches. (Full/Cylinder). Chambers: 2 3/4 inches. Stock Dimensions: Pull: 14 inches. Drop at comb: 1 1/2 inches. Drop at heel: 2 3/8 inches. Cast: None. Weight: 6 pounds, 3 ounces.
Condition: Excellent, as completely redone and upgraded. Showing little use after restoration. Barrels show 99% bluing. Excellent bright bore. Action shows 99% recased colors. Triggerguard and skeleton buttplate shows 99% reblued finish. Stock shows a few light marks. Fore-end shows 99% recased colored iron and furniture.
