Description

US M1819 Rifle by Simeon North. Converted to percussion. All metal smooth and clean with just some scattered light abrasions, minor. The front sight is an incorrect replacement, the ramrod is period but apparently incorrect, else complete and original in every respect. Mechanically fine, excellent bore. Breechblock markings somewhat weak, about 70% visible. Wood excellent with nice patina, with the exception of one small area on the left side of the butt stock that has been repaired with wood filler. Obviously done long ago and could easily be made nearly imperceptible. Good representative example of the contract Hall rifle in percussion.
