Reuben Davis ALS to Colonel Jefferson Davis, November 29, 1852, Aberdeen, one page, 7.5" x 10". Reuben Davis (later a Confederate States general) writes (in part): "The intelligence that your health has been entirely restored has imparted to our people unusual joy. It is strange how much the people love you in this portion of the state. They are longing for summer to come that they may again see you among them." Near fine with original folds, one small tear at right, slight wear and toning. From the Taking of Texas Collection.
