Description
George Washington: 1789 Inaugural Button. GW-1789-38, 25mm, brass. This smaller-size brass variety is very distinctive, with Liberty Cap above the eagle, and "GW" on either side of his head. A very nice example, with the original shank remaining at the back.Condition: Extra wear is present at the center on the eagle's shield, and a small dark mark is present in the lower left field. Shank is slightly bent. The piece possesses an attractive patina.
