Description

Thomas Jefferson: Indian Peace Medal. This copper version of the Jefferson Indian Peace Medal is 52 mm. across and is referred to as a "size 3". It was designed by Reich. There is a die break on the reverse extending from the "R & I" of "Friendship" to the middle finger of the right hand, plus two faint die breaks extending from the right hand to the shaft of the tomahawk. This piece is uncirculated with orange toning and great detail. It certainly is a superlative example in all respects.
