Description

Lincoln & Johnson: A Classic 1864 Campaign Flag Banner. Great symmetry to this design, with the stars in a very striking configuration. Listed by Collins Imprint of History, although clearly by the same maker as the smaller McClellan & Pendleton version he pictures on page 171. A little light soiling, and two very trivial light water stains in the bottom corners. Several tiny nail holes along the left edge, doubtless from when it was affixed to a stick to be waved at rallies. All in all, excellent condition for a political flag of this era. These flags have become among the most sought after of early political display items, especially those from Abraham Lincoln's two campaigns. 11.5" x 7.75".
