Description
Jefferson Davis: Southern Leaders Silk Bandanna. This 35" x 33" silk textile is listed as Threads #317 and depicts CSA President Jefferson Davis as well as Raphael Semmes, Mason & Slidell, Joseph Johnston, Pierre Beauregard, Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson and John Morgan. It comes in two colors, purple and powder blue. This is the latter. Its origins are uncertain, but it may have been produced in England for export to the Confederate States, circa 1862-1863. This example has some small, scattered stains and holes, but is generally a very well-preserved example. Auction appearances are few and far between.Auction Info
