Description

Abraham Lincoln: Unique Lincoln & Hamlin Folk Art Banner. 17" x 22" hand-painted glazed or polished cotton banner produced in the pivotal election of 1860. The names of the candidates, "Lincoln and Hamlin.", are the centerpiece of the display. Their names are framed, as it were, by monuments topped with books and columns decorated with wrap-around ribbons, wreaths and baskets of flowers. It is extremely colorful. The colors include rose, blue, emerald, brown, yellow, cyan and violet. There is a minor stain in the lower right corner and light normal aging. It was apparently folded in eighths at one time, then subsequently framed in a pine frame with sponge-decorated veneer. The size is ideal for display. There's a spot for it in your collection!
