Description

Abraham Lincoln: "CDV" Bandanna. "Prest. Lincoln" and four Union commanders (Fremont, McClellan, Sigel and Halleck) are shown on this 21" x 21" cotton bandanna listed as Threads #326. The portraits simulate cartes-de-visite. It is printed in burgundy and two shades of brown and is quite distinctive. We believe it was manufactured in 1862, but may date from 1864, as Lincoln, Fremont and McClellan were all presidential candidates that year. The colors are strong and the portraits are clean. Outside of some dark stains along the right edge, it is in very fine condition. All period Lincoln bandannas are rare and desirable. These five "cards" truly make a winning hand!
