African Americana: Uncle Tom's Cabin Bandanna. 19" x 16" cotton handkerchief, unlisted in Threads, attached to board with black cloth tape at the edges. Titled: "Uncle Tom's Cabin", it depicts numerous scenes from the bestseller. The central caption says: "Scenes daily and hourly acting under The Shadow of American Law". Probably printed in England or Scotland and meant not only to help in schools, but bring attention to the abolitionist cause and provoke action on that front.Auction Info
