Socialist Labor Party: 1898 Charter Certificate. 18.5" x 14" printed and manuscript certificate, decorated in a style reminiscent of Albrecht Dürer, titled "Charter of the Socialist Labor Party of the United States of America". New York, August 9, 1898. It grants a charter to J. P. Merkel and comrades of Reading County in Pennsylvania. A terrific piece!From the collection of Ed Sullivan.
