Horatio Seymour: Unique Pseudo Currency Handbill. 3 3/4" x 7 3/4" pseudo $5 bill depicting the 1868 Democratic nominee, "Horatio Seymour", along with goddesses of War and Justice and campaign slogans ("The Payment in Greenbacks of the Bonds and Equal Taxation..."). This is the only example we have seen, although variations of the theme exist in different formats. It should have crossover appeal to Civil War and currency collectors. Numerous vertical folds, visible at an angle, which do not detract from the presentation.Auction Info
