Description

George B. McClellan: 1864 Currier & Ives Cartoon. The Democratic candidate is shown as the peacemaker while Presidents Lincoln and Jeff Davis are tearing the country apart. Lincoln insists on abolition, while Davis insists on separation or independence. The artist has a subliminal message in depicting the Confederate President in ragged clothes. The 13" x 18" printed was published in 1864 and is in excellent condition, save for a 2" neatly repaired border tear and damp stain along the right edge.
