Description

Andrew Jackson: 1828 Campaign Pamphlet. "Proceedings of the Democratic Convention, Held at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, January 8, 1828." This convention, predating what is usually considered the first national nominating conventions held in 1831-1832, adopted resolutions endorsing the ticket of Jackson & Calhoun, ordered political tracts to be published and formed a committee to nominate a slate of electors. 16pp., uncut, bound in thread with toning & soiling to covers. An interesting look at the electoral process in the formative years of presidential campaigns.
