Description
[Ulysses S. Grant] 1885 G.A.R. Memorial Service Invitation. A scarce printed invitation, 5" x 3", to the Grand Army of the Republic's memorial service for the recently deceased general. Neatly engraved with a thick, black border. Sponsored by the Department of the Potomac of the G.A.R., the service was held at the Metropolitan M. E. Church on Thursday, October 1, 1885. Expertly double matted and framed in gilt to an overall 10.5" x 16.5" with a finely engraved vintage bust portrait of Grant. An ideal display piece. Extremely fine condition.Auction Info
