William Jennings Bryan: Two Salt River Broadsheets. All Aboard For Salt River! Travel on "That Ancient Steamer, Free Silver" or buy a ticket for the "Patched-up Steamer 'Democracy'" as both are ready to set sail at once, with Commander-In-Chief William Jennings Bryan at the helm. As the boat pulls loose from its moorings give voice to a chorus of: "Churches and Schools are for women and fools, Then around the saloon let us rally, Our glasses we'll fill on the top of each hill, And at night we'll raise h__l in the valley." These two broadsheets will certainly entertain and add a touch of funny business to your collection! The first is titled "St. Clair Township Salt River Excursion." it is 4 1/4" x 12", has a light corner crease bottom left, one more significant crease that travels horizontally across the piece 3" up from the bottom. Otherwise item is intact, fairly clean in appearance, and quite legible. The larger broadsheet 8" X 12" titled "All Aboard for Salt River!" has several small graphics individually titled, one light vertical crease travels top to bottom in center but not distracting. A note at the top margin in pencil reads "Note head of list of roustabouts". Overall the item is clean in appearance and in very good condition.Auction Info
