Description

The Woman Citizen: (46 Issues) containing some cartoon covers. The Woman Citizen was an outgrowth of Lucy Stone's Woman's Journal, which was founded in 1870 and for a while served as the mouthpiece of the National American Woman Suffrage Association after the AWSA merged with the NWSA. Eight issues in this lot have cartoon covers, others are illustrated, while only one is without a cover. Since most are from 1917-1921, it is interesting to read about the excitement and anticipation of women with respect to the impending passage of the 19th amendment.
