Description

Robert E. Lee: Richmond Monument Dedication Ribbons. Two or three ribbons (depends on how you count them) issued as souvenirs at the "Laying [of] The Corner Stone Lee Monument Richmond, Va. October 27th, 1887." The first is a 2 1/4" x 7" satin ribbon. The second is a 2 1/2" x 5" gold-stamped ribbon showing the monument. It is attached to a 2 1/2" x 7 1/2" satin ribbon of "General Robt. E. Lee's Farewell address to his Army." Great condition on all of them. A note indicates these were owned by Color Sergeant James Hannon of the R. E. Lee Camp No. 1 C.V. [Confederate Veterans[. Hopefully, the Lee monument is still on display and hasn't been hauled off somewhere!
