Description
Woman's Suffrage: "Votes for Women" Ribbon. 2" x 4.25". It is difficult to determine whether or not this pendant with the "Votes for Women" slogan protected with a celluloid cover and a 4" ribbon hanging down is English or American. The purple, white, and green colors of the ribbon were originally English, but they had been adapted by several American groups. Similar pieces appear pictured in the fabled Alice Park suffrage collection, but hers was a potpourri of both English and American items, so it is impossible to tell from that source. Still, whatever the case, this remains a very rare and attractive item that is in very good condition.Auction Info
