Description
William McKinley et al: Group of 5 Campaign Ribbon Badges From Around 1900. An attractive and varied group of five campaign and political badges, the largest being a blue-on-yellow McKinley and Hobart coattail ribbon for Governor Hazen S. Pingree and Oren S. Milnes, measuring 2 ½" x 8 ½". Also included is a "Bankers and Brokers" parade badge featuring a 2 ⅛" celluloid jugate of McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt, and a scarce "Hide and Leather" badge with a "Vice President" top bar. The group further includes a 2 ⅞" Harrison–Reid brass and celluloid hanger, with a central portrait of Benjamin Harrison, silver-inscribed "Harrison Reid," and an impressive crimson "Reception Committee" ribbon issued for a Mass Meeting and Opening of the Campaign for Governor Hazen S. Pingree.Condition: The Sound Money Jugate is fragile with tight but scattered separations confined to the lower blue silk portion. The Hide and Leather badge has been reinforced with archival tape on the back of the lavender ribbon. The two silks have light folds and creases as seen. Else fine.
