Description
Fillmore & Donelson: 1856 Silk Ribbon. 2.375" x 7.25". Fillmore served as President after the death in office of Zachary Taylor in 1850, but was passed over for the Whig nomination in 1852. In 1856 he re-emerged as the candidate of the nativist "Know Nothing" Party, the culmination of a political and social movement depicted so effectively in the motion picture Gangs of New York. Some trivial soiling, else in near fine condition.Auction Info
