Greek Sterling Silver Cigar Box with Mounted Ancient Coin, Benefiting Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. The sterling silver box, 8.75-inches by 6-inches and 2.5-inches high, has a mounted Greek tetradrachm bearing the effigy of Alexander the Great dating from the fourth century BC, mounted in a gold bezel in the center of the lid. The lid id marked "A. KATPAMOΠOYΛOΣ 925". This box was kept in the silver cabinet at the LBJ Ranch. The wood liner is split, otherwise, in fine condition. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Lynda Johnson Robb.


A full 100% of the net proceeds will benefit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at the University of Texas at Austin, in honor of the 2012 Centennial of Lady Bird Johnson's birth.
