Gerald Ford: Presidential Seal Hooked Rug Used in President Ford's Home Office in Rancho Mirage, California. Ellen Ford, the wife of President Ford's brother Dick, hooked the rug during President Ford's presidency. It was presented to President Ford in the family quarters during a trip to the White House on February 1, 1975. It was the only time that she and Dick Ford spent the night in the White House. Proceeds of this auction will be used for the new Student Learning Center being developed by the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Steve Ford.
