Gerald Ford: Halston Gown Belonging to Betty Ford. Halston-designed apricot silver sequin gown and slip. Worn by Betty Ford at various events, including: Halston Award Dinner at Olympic Towers on May 21, 1979 (a copy photograph of Martha Graham, Betty Ford, Halston, Elizabeth Taylor and Lisa Minelli accompanies the lot), the Carousel Ball in Denver on June 9, 1979 (attended by Sammy Davis, Jr., Lucille Ball, Frank Sinatra, Merv Griffin, the Henry Kissinger's and Gucci), and the Jimmy Stewart Life Achievement Award Dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on November 2, 1979. Detailed instructions on proper care for the garments are included. Proceeds of this auction will be used for the new Student Learning Center being developed by the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Steve Ford.Auction Info
