Gerald Ford: First Lady Fur Shoulder Cape. This fur shoulder cape was owned by the First Lady, Betty Ford, and has her name embroidered on the silk lining. It has the label of the maker, Christie Brothers of New York..The photo pictures Mrs. Ford wearing the Chinchilla Cape during the 31st Annual Genii Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA, October 1986.Proceeds of this auction will be used for the new Student Learning Center being developed by the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Steve Ford.
